Project DayDream’s mission is to educate, entertain, and enrich the lives of children, young adults and their families through the arts.
Tiffany Victoria Sims, Artistic Director, founded Project DayDream in 2002 with the commitment to provide unique performing arts opportunities to families and communities. Her work is inspired by the belief that the arts produce phenomenal impacts within the lives of individuals and communities--leaving behind the most awe-inspiring fingerprints humanity has ever seen.
Sims’ main objective is to encourage individuals to actively use their imagination in order to dream, think, and achieve!
Programs
Dream Players Productions (DPP): Project DayDream’s theatre production company employ professional directors, choreographers and designers who work with a cast of children and young adults. Each year, Dream Players Productions produces one main stage summer musical. Recent shows include: The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Oliver!, and The Little Princess. The junior production unit of DPP is for children ages 8-15. DPP Junior produces one musical each fall. Recent shows include: Annie, Jr., Honk,Jr, & Pocahontas. Each production is cast through open auditions that take place at the local high schools in Birmingham, MI.
The Players Club: At the heart of Dream Players Productions is our brand new Players Club. The Players Club is a collaborative effort between students and directors to help promote and produce DPP theatrical programs and special events. Club Membership is by invitation. Members meet bi-weekly and participate in special performance workshops, serve as community volunteers, produce events and productions.
Arts With-In: Last year over 500 kids were exposed to musical theater & drama through our community residency efforts. Arts With-In provides programs designed to work with and within existing community organizations and schools. Arts With-In offers classes, camps, seminars, and residency type programs which encompass a series of arts related topics and themes including Performing Arts Intensives, Musical Theatre Classes, Private/Small ensemble voice lessons, and more. Current Clients Include: Holy Name School(Birmingham); The Detroit Public Schools Children’s Museum (Detroit); Birmingham Community Education (Birmingham); The Congregational Church of Birmingham (Bloomfield Hills); Covington School (Birmingham); Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School (Beverly Hills).
Vocal Music Department: Under the direction of local performer and music educator, Tara Sievers, our Vocal Music Department consist of three vocal programs: The Youth Dream Choir (Boys & Girls 3-5 grades); The Girls Vocal Ensembles (6-9 grades & 9-12 grades). The music program is designed for singers who seek an interactive music program. The singers develop advanced music skills and perform a wide variety of exciting music in several languages. In addition to group instruction, members receive individual instruction with the ensemble Director. The Girls Ensembles is an auditioned program.
